Built in the late 1800s, this Bicentennial Barn is more of a corn crib than an actual barn, with large openings all around to keep air circulating as corn dries out. Relocated in the 1950s to make way for State Route 104, which it now resides along its intersection with State Route 32 and the Scioto River.
This barn is uniquely painted as Scott, The Barn Artist, could not find a way to paint the state’s Bicentennial logo all on one side. Therefore, he did a bit of maneuvering with the Ohio on the gable end and the date on the broad side. It is different than any other barn in the state, but the owner remarked that it is actually good as “It can be seen from both SR 32 and SR 104… No one misses it.”
Named for Explorer and War of 1812 General, Zebulon Pike, Pike County is located in the southern part of the state. The area of the barn was once raided by Morgan’s Raiders during the Civil War.
Pike County’s closest dispensaries can be found traveling east on SR 32 to get to @botanicalsbuckeye or directly north on SR 104 to get to Chillicothe @sunnyside.dispensary .
