This Bicentennial Barn is used to store grain and house polled Hereford cattle. Arthur St. Clair, Governor of the Northwest Territory, named the county for the beauty of its “fair fields.”
William Tecumseh Sherman, a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, and his brother, John Sherman, a United States senator and author of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, are from Lancaster, the county seat of Fairfield County.
